About UET

We develop the person behind the professional.

Ubuntu Etiquette Training is a South African development organisation built on a simple conviction: skills open doors, but character determines what happens once you walk through them.

Our story

Founded on a question about people, not performance.

UET began with a recurring observation: people were technically capable, yet under-prepared for the human demands of work and leadership. Etiquette had been reduced to formality, and soft skills to an afterthought. We set out to restore both to their rightful place — as the foundation of how people carry themselves.

Mission

To empower individuals with the etiquette, soft skills and character required to thrive in life, work and society.

Vision

A South Africa where personal conduct, professionalism and Ubuntu shape how people lead, work and live together.

Purpose

To develop the whole person — not only what people can do, but who they are becoming.

Our heart

Ubuntu is at the heart of who we are.

“Ubuntu reminds us that our development is connected to the people around us.”

We grow as individuals, but never in isolation. Every skill learned, every standard raised and every act of respect ripples outward into families, workplaces and communities. That is why UET develops the whole person — because the person shapes everyone they touch.

Our values

Seven commitments that shape everything we do.

Value 01

Ubuntu

We believe a person is a person through other people. Development is never a solitary act — it is shared, relational and rooted in community.

What we develop

The UET Development Model

Every area of development is connected. Strengthen one, and the others follow.

No single skill stands alone. UET develops these areas together, so growth in one strengthens the rest.
